The Illinois section of the Mathematical Association of American (ISMAA) sponsors a high school lecture program. This program gives high schools in Illinois an opportunity to bring in mathematicians from a college, university, or business for a lecture or a group of lectures. These could be given as part of a mathematics class, mathematics club, or honor society meeting. The visiting mathematician could stay for a good part of a day and talk with students and faculty on an informal basis. This program comes to you free of charge. For more information or to request a speaker, contact Tim Comar.
Several mathematicians all across Illinois have volunteered to give talks on various topics which include:
Chairman, ISMAA Committee on High School Lectures
Mathematics Department and Computer Science Department
5700 College Road
Lisle, Illinois 60453-0900
Mathematicians interested in participating in the ISMAA High School Lecture Program should also contact Prof. Comar at the above address.
